  ANGELIQUE TSANG
Angelique Tsang is a highly experienced executive headhunter with a passion for psychology and spirituality. By day she is a senior researcher in the Consumer and Leisure practice division of Odgers Berndtson’s London office, responsible for executing board and divisional level searches in the fashion, retail and leisure industries, while by night she leads workshops on co-creating successful relationships in work and life.

Using movies, myth, stories and songs, Angelique helps people understand the (collective and personal) unconscious and their predominant archetypal motifs in order to realize their highest potential. She explains: “This psychoanalytical part of my life is a very different world out of work where I study and now lead lectures and workshops on the human psyche, the nature of how we co-create reality in our everyday life and how we are impacted by unconscious dynamics.”

Although Angelique’s two worlds are clearly distinct, she believes they are also mutually beneficial. “I learned so much about rationality, pragmatism and goal oriented decisiveness and collaboration in the business world. I think you can transfer a lot of the success skills of business leaders into your personal life. Your personal life can be so murky. I’m bridging those two worlds. This is a message that she is keen to promote through her workshops: “There are unconscious un-useful patterns and motifs in your life that you can learn to recognize, take responsibility for and ultimately transform to lead a successful and joyful life.”

Angelique moved to London from Amsterdam in 2006 where she was working in executive recruitment at the Dutch office of Heidrick & Struggles. Before this, she was a tax lawyer, working at Deloitte as an assistant tax manager in international tax practice. She says: “I couldn’t see myself enjoying being a specialist in tax law and although it was financially rewarding it was unfulfilling. It was not an easy change - it took courage and two years to make that decision!”

Angelique read law at the University of Amsterdam. After that she studied Relational Energy Healing in the USA and finished a professional training in family constellations and organizational and leadership constellations. She is currently a pre-router in the individual training route for Jungian analysts.

Q&A   MY LITTLE BLACK BOOK

WHEN I WAS A CHILD I WANTED TO BE...
Princess Leia - a heroine in a galaxy far far away, until I found out about the hard fact of life that I needed an academic degree to earn decent money.

MY DAILY ROUTINE IS...
To lecture my hair to control its frizziness after I contemplate all the petty excuses why I am not jumping out of bed to run on the treadmill. The rest is a variation involving my hair, computers and mobile phones.

MY FIVE-YEAR PLAN IS TO...
Be lecturing and leading groundbreaking workshops all over the world, signing books that have silly titles and changing people’s lives in an earth shattering way.

A FILM THAT CHANGED ME IS...
Shrek. It is one of the best movies ever made about individuation. I plan to do a whole workshop on it one day.

MY WORKING PHILOSOPHY IS...
To follow your strengths and what gives you energy. Do what you would do even if you were not paid for it.

MY GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE IS...
My exclusive gym membership at The 25 Club. I committed to changing my body image in 2009 and it has changed my life. I can wake up at seven and not feel tired, my eating habits have changed, I’ve lost weight and I’m more toned. In terms of life change it’s a very good investment.

In Cockle Bays Wharf in Sydney. There are four hanging wicker egg chairs where you can read a book and or just drink a glass of wine, away from the bustle of the rest of the wharf.
